Nicole
Who is Nicole?
Prior to focusing exclusively on mediation, I worked for several years as an Equal Employment Opportunity investigator, managing complex and emotionally charged matters involving interpersonal conflict, power dynamics, and communication breakdowns. In that role, I learned that the more informed people are about the process and their options, the more empowered they feel to make thoughtful decisions for themselves. That perspective continues to guide my work today. As a mediator, I serve as a neutral facilitator, helping parties engage in collaborative dialogue, understand one another’s concerns, and work together to reach their own resolutions.
After many years living and working in Long Beach, CA I relocated to North County San Diego to slow the pace of life and prioritize time with my family. That shift reinforced my belief that meaningful resolution is not just about reaching an agreement, but about preserving well-being, connection, and long-term stability.
I work with couples, families, unmarried or cohabitating partners, neighbors, and community members to address conflict thoughtfully and constructively. I help people clarify what matters most, acknowledge the emotional realities of conflict, and move forward with intention, even when outcomes are difficult or imperfect.
I maintain an active commitment to professional development through ongoing trainings and conferences at Pepperdine University and other professional forums. I am also a member of the Southern California Mediation Association, where I remain engaged with best practices and developments in the field.
I am honored to collaborate with Jennifer Segura and the San Diego Family Mediation Center team, supporting individuals and families as they navigate meaningful transitions. Together, we offer a mediation process that emphasizes understanding, transparency, and self-determination, allowing clients to reach thoughtful and durable resolutions.
I believe conflict does not have to be destructive. With the right guidance and collaborative process, it can become an opportunity for clarity, growth, and forward movement. My role is to create a space where all voices are respected and solutions are shaped by the people who live them.
