Our Teen Mediation and Conflict Skills Coaching program in San Diego gives adolescents a structured, neutral space to work through peer disputes, family tension, and school conflicts in a way that sticks.

Understand the root of their conflict

Learn de-escalation and conflict resolution tools

Build skills that last beyond the session

Is your teen dealing with ongoing peer conflict, bullying, or tension that will not resolve on its own? Unresolved disputes can escalate into emotional distress, academic decline, and social withdrawal. At San Diego Family Mediation Center, our Teen Conflict Mediation program gives adolescents a structured, safe environment to work through disagreements in a healthy and productive way.
Understand the root of their conflict – so they can address what is actually driving the dispute, not just the surface argument.
Develop better communication skills – through active listening and clear, respectful expression.
Learn de-escalation and conflict resolution tools – that help them stay calm under pressure and resolve tension before it grows.
Create agreements for future interactions – so both parties leave with mutual, clearly understood expectations.
Build lifelong skills for navigating disagreements– by developing emotional intelligence and practical problem-solving habits they will carry into adulthood.
Teen mediation is not just about resolving today’s conflict. It is about giving your teenager the tools to handle the next one.

Stories of Mediation Success in San Diego
A personal thank you. I really needed the divorce and the speed at which you sent out the contract along with my email I think shocked Tom into signing it. Based on his texts after, I think he surprised himself. I appreciate the quick turnaround. My finances and housing situation has already stabilized after receiving the signed agreement and half of our agreed upon amount (Tom wants to hold on to the rest until the judge signs our divorce). Thank you for being an integral part of my journey.
Thank you,
Thank you again for guiding us through the process, totally agree about not going the ugly court battle route!
I feel like we made such good progress. You made everything so easy, and you were very helpful and knowledgeable. When we were walking out, my husband literally called you a God-send.
I want to thank you so much for helping us out with this whole thing. You have helped make smooth a time in our lives that could have been much more crazy and messy. I can’t thank you enough for your help. You do a noble thing.
I hope you are doing great and having a nice 4th of July weekend. I will be one of your best referrals, as I feel you did an outstanding job facilitating our mediation.
Wishing you my best with your new venture — we really enjoyed working with you, I feel you guided us to the best outcome for us both…all things considered.
We guide teens through a focused three-session process designed to build understanding, reach resolution, and develop lasting conflict skills.

Teens ages 12 to 18 dealing with peer conflict, bullying, friendship fallouts, social tension at school, or online harassment.
Session 1:
Individual Meetings - Each teen shares their perspective privately in a judgment-free space, with no pressure and no audience.
Session 2:
Guided Mediation - A neutral facilitator brings both parties together, helps them communicate clearly, and guides them toward practical solutions they both agree on.
Session 3:
Conflict Resolution Coaching - We equip teens with specific tools and strategies so they can handle future conflicts independently, without needing a third party to step in.
This is a proactive alternative to school discipline and a meaningful investment in your teen’s emotional future. If you are working through broader family tension alongside your teen’s conflict, our family mediation services in San Diego offer a parallel process for the household.

Teen Mediation in San Diego: Frequently Asked Questions
Teen mediation is a structured, three-session process where a neutral mediator helps adolescents resolve conflicts with peers, siblings, or classmates. Each teen first meets individually with the mediator, then both parties come together for a guided session, followed by a skills coaching session so they can manage future conflicts on their own.
Our teen mediation program is designed for adolescents ages 12 to 18. We work with teens navigating peer conflict, bullying, school tension, social media disputes, and friendship breakdowns.
Mediation can address peer conflict, bullying, cyberbullying, academic pressure disputes, social media drama, friendship fallouts, group dynamics, and communication breakdowns between teens and their peers or siblings.
Yes. Teen mediation is a proactive, constructive alternative to school disciplinary processes. It addresses the underlying conflict rather than just penalizing behavior, which makes it more effective for long-term resolution.
Mediation is voluntary. If an agreement cannot be reached, families retain all other options. In most cases, however, teens are able to reach at least a partial understanding, even when a full resolution takes more time. For ongoing family tensions connected to the dispute, our family mediation services can provide additional support.
Yes. All sessions are confidential. The mediator does not share what is discussed without consent, unless there is a specific safety concern that requires further action.
Parents may be involved in initial consultations and in understanding the process, but the mediation sessions themselves are designed to give teens a neutral space to speak freely. The mediator will advise on the appropriate level of parental involvement based on the situation.
Sessions typically run 60 to 90 minutes. The full three-session process is usually completed within a few weeks, depending on scheduling and the complexity of the conflict.
